On 6 May 2021 the Fund received the Australian Red Cross Humanitarian Partner Award. In conjunction with World Red Cross Day with award was presented to the Fund at a Ceremony Held at Government House, Victoria.
The Australian Red Cross acknowledged the Fund's contribution as follows:
Collier Charitable Fund and Australian Red Cross have a shared history since its inception 65 years ago in 1955, having provided Red Cross with nearly $3 million to support many social innovation projects. Throughout the years, Collier has helped build Red Cross' capacity nationally to deliver Youth Mental Health Initiatives, including Save a Mate; has funded the delivery of outreach services to support activities for communities impacted by natural disasters; improved Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Maternal and Child Health; and has significantly increased Red Cross' capacity to assist people in immigration dentention by improving and formalising training, management and career progression for volunteer Humanitarian Observers through the Immigration Detention Capacity Building Program. Recently, Collier supported Red Cross in trialing approaches [for] Justice Reinvestment in Ceduna. This ground-breaking program and justice reinvestment framework has now been adopted by the wider Far West Coast services network, enabling a sector-wide restorative approach to service design and deliver.
